|This is an exciting opportunity to join the management team within our Children's Social Care Service.
Stoke-on-Trent is on an improvement journey and we are committed to improving outcomes for our children and young people. We are expanding our Children's Services and are realigning our structures and resources, to enable us to deliver the best possible service to our children and families. So if you want the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of others, we would be 'Stoke'd if you would join us.
You will contribute to the management, delivery and operation of the service to achieve the best possible outcomes for children and young people. You will model and direct the work of the team through a collaborative and systemic approach and will focus on developing the quality of practice, setting standards and the conditions required for successful social work. As well as managing the team's caseload including complex cases, you will act as a mentor and coach in supporting practitioners to enhance their practice. You will also manage the duty function.
You will have significant post qualifying experience and be able to manage and lead a team efficiently in a challenging environment. You should have experience of child protection processes, safeguarding procedures, care planning and statutory reviews. You will also have experience in public and private law proceedings and be able to chair multi-agency meetings.
