This post is a minimum of 10 hours per school term (average 2.5 hours per month). The hours are based on the number of schools you clerk for, so there is the potential for the hours to be higher.
We are looking for Clerks to cover the Stoke-on-Trent and/or Staffordshire area during the daytime and/or evening.
JOB DESCRIPTION
This is an exciting opportunity to help drive forward school improvement by making a significant contribution to governance. You will be accountable to the governing body, working effectively with the chair of governors, and with the Headteacher or Principal and other governors and will be trained to a nationally accredited level.
You will co-ordinate the distribution of papers for meetings, and will minute meetings. You will also be responsible for advising the governing body on constitutional matters, duties and powers and will work within the broad current legislative framework.
The variable hours nature of the post requires some evening work, but exact hours are open to negotiation and are flexible.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
You will be well organised, with good listening, oral and literacy skills. You will also have experience of accurate minute taking.
